7.5 Writing Task-2 Band Model Answer

Modern technology has made it easier for individuals to download copyright music and books from the internet for no charge.

To what extent is this a positive or a negative trend?

Nowadays, with the help of technological advancement, the transfer of music tracks and books from the internet to our personal computers or phones is a trouble-free act as it does not disturb our pocket. Undoubtedly, it is simple and straightforward, however, we should not snub the other side of it which needs to be analyzed.

With the development of technology, there are lots of songs and reading materials on the internet and there is no restriction to download it from there without paying anything. This is a big help for those who cannot afford to buy a hardcover copy of a book or a music CD. Manybook.com and gaana.com are the perfect epitome here which provide a feature to extract any book or download any track almost free of cost.

On the contrary, a bunch of people called it piracy that means injustice to the artists and authors as the originator of the song or book never gets their rightful reward when people download their hard work from the internet which can demotivate them to do any further work. Furthermore, computers and phones are more vulnerable to catch the virus from pirated websites and a person may end up losing more money than the original price of a music CD or a book.

To recapitulate, to some extent downloading music or books from the internet is beneficial to society as it is relatively easy and cheap but simultaneously giving a negative impact on the livelihood of composers and authors and secondly making our devices more prone to malware.
