These days technology is revamping regularly and people have to learn new things to adapt to modern technology. It is generally seen that senior citizens face challenges whenever new technology launches due to lack of knowledge and to overcome the same, we as a society need to educate them so that they could benefit from it.
The elderly have trouble catching up with new developments in technology because computers and the internet are fundamentally novel. Computers and smartphones require a skill set that is completely foreign to this generation as such gadgets were not available in their learning years. For instance, using a computer requires navigating its unfamiliar interface, locating programs, typing, making accounts, and troubleshooting. Even a simple task of turning on a computer becomes overwhelming and acts as an initial barrier for the older generation.
Taking into account the above reasons, the best solution for this is education. Workshops should be set up in offices which impart training of these gadgets to older people who are still working. Moreover, family members can also help the elderly in their homes and encourage them to learn this kind of skill. Since most of the families are scattered all over the world, it would be a great motivation for old people to make video calls to their loved ones by using applications such as Skype or WhatsApp or Facebook messenger. Through simple instructions from family members, using smartphones and computers can become a routine task.
To summarize, although old people often cannot understand the technology and the gap of information is the main reason, regular training at work and home is the way to bridge this gap. In this way, the benefits of technology can be given to those who missed out on them in their youth.
TIPS TO WRITE 8 BAND ANSWER IN WRITING TASK-2
It is the most challenging module amongst all others. Few things should be considered while writing an essay for a 7+ band in writing task-2.
- Use Sound Vocabulary.
- Be sure to understand the question.
- Be cohesive in your ideas.
- Handwriting should be readable.
- Word Limit between 250 – 300 words.
- only spend about 40 minutes on Task 2.
- Avoid repetitive words in your essay; it is not a good sign.
- Avoid spelling and grammatical mistakes and use complex structure.
- Don’t try to paraphrase everything, do paraphrasing in the only Introduction part.
- Follow 4 Para structure:- INTRODUCTION, BODY PARAGRAPH-1, BODY PARAGRAPH-2, CONCLUSION.
- In the end, do read them.
