Money is essential to fulfilling the rudimentary needs of life like food, clothes, and houses. Numerous people consider it as an important factor to attain happiness whereas others reckon that happiness cannot be bought by money. I firmly agree with the latter idea because happiness is not a material thing that can be procured by using money.
Firstly, happiness is a state of inner satisfaction. Every person has different interests and goals to achieve in their lives, which require determination and hard work rather than the investment of money. Such goals cannot be achieved by money. For instance, Happiness for a student is showing extraordinary performance in exams. Therefore, a person cannot buy happiness as some goals require determination and hard work rather than the investment of money. Besides, it is commonly seen that many people live a luxurious lifestyle, however, they suffer from depression. The Recent demise of an Indian actor Sushant Singh Rajput is an example of such people, who have a huge amount of money but are not happy.
Furthermore, although some people have enough money to fulfill their basic needs, their future plans make them stressed and dejected. Various people spend maximum time expanding their earnings instead of enjoying their luxurious and family life. For example, I used to love reading books but since I started working, that part of me is buried behind all the future plans and goals I have set for myself which involves earning more money. Thus, I am not able to enjoy my life as I am bound to my work responsibilities and this has taken a toll on my mental peace.
To conclude, albeit money is necessary to bring comfort in life, it cannot bring happiness. Everyone cannot get happiness by spending money as the definition of it is different for each person. Therefore, I strongly agree with the notion that happiness has no relation to money.
