8 Band Model Answer, People choose a career

Some people choose a career according to the social status and salary it will give them. Others choose a career according to whether they will enjoy the work.

Which do you think is the best way to choose a career? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

To choose a career in life is a crucial phase since the future is entirely dependent on such selection. Many people consider social status and salary at the time of opting for any career while others think of self-satisfaction and enjoyment when choosing the job. I also agree with the latter view and will elaborate the same in upcoming paragraphs.

Firstly, it is always better to go with such a job which a person will enjoy in their life. In fact, there is one popular saying by an eminent personality Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam that “Choose the job you love, then you don’t have to work even a single day in your life”. Satisfaction is indeed important in anyone’s life since. If people run after high-paying jobs then they will end up frustrating themselves and will lose interest in their jobs in a short span.

Secondly, it is generally seen that if an employee wants to earn a handsome salary then they have to work for extended hours in the office. Eventually, people will not enjoy it since they will feel the separation from their family members and therefore, will not be able to pay full attention in the workplace which in turn will affect the position in the company.

If a person will choose the occupation according to his interest then they will definitely accelerate in their life. For example, Steve Jobs had opted career in the invention of new technology as per his interest and now he is a renowned personality and listed amongst High Net-worth Individuals as well.

To summarize, a person has to be cautious while selecting a career and I believe that to sustain a good life in the long run, a person has to choose the future so that they can enjoy rather than considering social status and salary.
