Learning is a process of acquiring new knowledge, skills and values. I have learned enormous things in my life from my folks. Here, I am going to talk about a skill that I have learned from my uncle two years back.
Basically, I was planning to learn driving so I decided to learn it from my uncle who is a retired army officer and also has his own driving institute that is just a stone’s throw away from my home. Being a retired army official, he was quite disciplined and strict which could be seen in the way he managed his business. His fee was also affordable.
As I was a novice at that time in this skill and I had my driving test in 15 days, I went to him to learn driving and I was confident that he could teach me driving within a fortnight. On the very first day, I made a huge mistake of pressing the accelerator in place of a break but he didn’t berate me. He kept calm and told me to keep my concentration.
That day, we drove for around two hours. At the end of 15 days, I was a fully trained driver. All this was possible because he was an exceptional teacher who always told me to be more confident in my skills and encouraged me to drive on highways and congested roads. He was very particular about the safety measures and made me follow them every time we met.
After clearing my driving test, I was in seventh heaven and I thanked him for his hard work. He was the most amazing mentor I ever had. I even recommended him to my friends and family.
